Pacific Industrial Company has a proud 52 year history as a leading provider of steel fabrication, construction and modularisation services to clients throughout Western Australia and Australia in the construction, mining and oil and gas sectors.

PIC has completed work on iconic projects such as Brookfield Place, Perth Museum, City square in Perth CBD and has successfully completed projects for BHP, Rio Tinto and Woodside to name a few. Our main Naval Base facility consists of three major workshops with a floor area totalling over 40,000 square metres, including over 40 overhead travelling cranes up to 120 tonne capacity. 

Currently, we have an exciting opportunity for a Industrial ServicesProject Managerto join our expanding team and help deliver recently awarded and future projects. This role is a highly operational role with a scope to source and secure projects for new and complimentary services to clients and industries in which PIC currently operate, and then to successfully deliver these projects through to implementation with a strong focus on developing stable and long term client relationships.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:
  • In consultation with PIC management, formulate and develop short and long term plans in order to source and deliver opportunities for complimentary and additional services in sectors including (but not limited to) Fabrication, Equipment refurbishment and repairs, Minor Capital and Maintenance works, Maintenance Services including Mechanical and Electrical, Shutdown and Campaign Maintenance programs and projects
  • In consultation with the Development and Proposals Manager, oversee and manage the development and planning of Industrial Services projects within PIC
  • Project manage and deliver projects within the Industrial Services area
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external customers to ensure project deliverables meet their requirements and expectations
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with contractors and suppliers relevant to the delivery of projects
  • Establish, enhance and maintain relationships with all client and potential client organisations
  • Manage the preparation of schedules, budgets, reports and forecasts for projects, and ensure that PIC reporting requirements are met
  • Ensure all project activities comply with relevant Acts, legal requirements and ethical standards
  • Develop and maintain project procedures to fulfil safety management requirements
  • Appraise project activities according to PIC’s overall strategies and objectives, and monitor and evaluate project delivery
  • Generate and recognise solutions and innovations
  • Ensure that all business activities and employees within the Industrial Services area comply with all legislative/statutory obligations, company policies, standards and procedures
The successful candidate will possess the following:
  • Solid technical background and hands-on experience, with either a Trade Qualification (Mechanical or Electrical) or relevant Tertiary Engineering Qualification
  • A proven track record in Project Management within a similar environment, coupled with strong commercial acumen
  • A strong business development focus, with a desire to “get out of the office” and in front of clients in order to deliver key strategies and results
  • The ability to build and maintain strong rapport with both new and existing clients, with a strong service delivery focus
  • Experience managing project quotes, tenders and bids from RFP stages, through to implementation
  • High level planning and operational coordination experience
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • The ability to organise resources to achieve a standard of excellence in outcomes and monitor on-going performance
  • Excellent time management and personal planning
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
