PIC is currently seeking an experienced and hands on HSE Advisor to join our team to provide advice and support on all matters relating to Health, Safety, and Environment across our workshop and various project locations.
This role is based at our Naval Base Head Office and provides the successful candidate with a varied role encompassing both corporate HSE activities as well as assisting our site-based teams to deliver project HSE objectives for our clients.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Proactively driving the implementation and continual improvement of our Health, Safety and Environmental culture, strategy, plan and performance
  • Taking ownership of the Company and Projects HSE Systems
  • Identifying Industry Standards and best practice according to legislation
  • Advising, assisting and implementing best practice safety strategy to assist project management to ensure a safe, healthy and accident-free work environment
  • Providing specialist HSE advice and technical support to the Management Team
  • Supporting the business to manage and maintain the HSE risk profile, risk assessment and risk management process
  • Ensuring all operational activities comply with applicable laws and regulations and our codes of conduct
  • Assisting to manage the internal auditing process and maintaining compliance with HSE certification requirements
  • Conducting and leading incident investigations where required
  • Exhibiting strong proactive leadership and commitment to HSE throughout all facets of the business
  • Actively leading and promoting HSE to all personnel
  • Conducting regular HSE audits to ensure compliance with processes and procedures
  • Provide HSE reporting on a monthly and as required basis
The key requirements for this role include:
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) or higher
  • At least 3+ years in a HSE Advisor or Senior HSE Advisor role
  • A strong commitment to HSE and a pragmatic approach to safety
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of the business
  • Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work within tight deadlines
  • A hands-on approach, along with a strong commitment to continuous improvement
