Pacific Industrial Company has a proud 52-year history as a leading provider of steel fabrication, construction and modularisation services to clients throughout Western Australia and Australia in the construction, mining and oil and gas sectors.

PIC has completed work on iconic projects such as Brookfield Place, Perth Museum, City square in Perth CBD and has successfully completed projects for BHP, Rio Tinto and Woodside to name a few. Our main Naval Base facility consists of three major workshops with a floor area totalling over 40,000 square metres, including over 40 overhead travelling cranes up to 120 tonne capacity. 

Due to continued business growth, we are urgently seeking qualified and experienced Diesel Mechanics to join our Naval Base Workshop.

Key Responsibilities

This role is responsible for the planned servicing, maintenance and repair of a wide range of vehicles, plant and construction equipment. This equipment includes:
  • Mobile cranes (20 to 350 tonnes)
  • Elevated work platforms
  • Scissor lifts
  • Forklifts
  • Trucks
  • Light vehicles
  • Welding sets
  • Generators
  • Compressors
Specifically, key responsibilities will include:
  • Undertaking scheduled servicing of all vehicles and equipment to ensure they continue in operation
  • Undertaking repairs on vehicles and equipment as required
  • Undertaking regular plant inspections and identifying/repairing any corrective actions that are required
  • Ensuring “Critical Parts” are available on site and ordered in to maintain a steady and available supply
Key Requirements
  • Heavy Duty Mechanic Trade Certificate
  • 5 years of relevant prior experience
  • The ability to work autonomously and prioritise your workload
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Vehicle electrical systems knowledge is preferable
  • Strong diagnostic skills
  • Effective communication skills
