collapse description expand description Pacific Industrial Company (PIC) is a highly regarded private company and a recognised leader in the Australian steel fabrication and construction industry. We provide steel design, fabrication and construction services to the construction, mining, oil and gas sectors Australia wide. PIC is currently seeking an experienced and hands on Quality Inspector to join our team, working across various upcoming projects, and based at our Naval Base offices and workshop location.
Key Duties include:
  • Provide Quality assurance support to projects, by liaising with Project Manager, Project Engineers and Workshop personnel to ensure client requirements are met.
  • Initiate and manage Quality records to ensure that any Quality issues and their solutions are recorded and are able to be traced.
  • Ensure that weld procedures, ITP’s execution methods, material management are available for all projects in a timely manner.
  • Develop/review weld procedure specifications.
  • Ensure that MDR compilation and client reporting is undertaken in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all quality verification requirements are met and recorded.
  • Manage and support client expectations for your respective project.
  • Adhere to, and work in accordance with company Quality processes and procedures.
  • Conduct Quality Audits in conjunction with the Quality Manager and line Supervisors at regular intervals.
Key Requirements:
  • Prior experience in a similar hands-on role in a workshop fabrication environment
  • Trade background or Tertiary qualification In Quality preferred
  • CSWIP 3.1 preferred
  • Strong computing skills
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy construction environment, both autonomously and in a small team
  • Ability to prioritise workload and be well organised
  • A "can do" attitude
