PIC has completed work on iconic projects such as Brookfield Place, Perth Museum, City square in Perth CBD and has successfully completed projects for BHP, Rio Tinto and Woodside to name a few. Our main Naval Base facility consists of three major workshops with a floor area totalling over 40,000 square metres, including over 40 overhead travelling cranes up to 120 tonne capacity. 
Due to company growth, PIC require an experienced Welding Supervisor to join our team based at the Naval Base workshop.
Reporting to the Workshop Superintendent, the Welding Supervisor will be responsible for supervising all welding activities within these positions designated area of responsibility in order to ensure the compliance with all fabrication targets and schedules, the company's quality policy and the company's occupational health and safety policy and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • To supervise all welding activities to ensure that it meets all specifications as specified on the fabrication drawings.
  • To ensure that all product items are identified as per client instructions and company procedures
  • To ensure that on every job the instructions given in the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and the Quality Plan Supplement (QPS) are followed.
  • To ensure that only the specified materials and consumables are used in the production process.
  • To allocate tasks to suitably qualified and experienced personnel and to monitor their performance of the tasks for quality and safety.
  • To initiate training of personnel as and when a training need is identified.
  • To ensure that personnel have all the information, serviceable and correct tools and materials to perform the tasks allocated.
  • Comply with PIC OSHE rules, regulations & procedures and work safely at all times
  • Undertake risk assessments by identifying hazards, assessing and controlling risks in accordance with established requirements
  • Ensure the proper use of equipment and materials to avoid potential hazards.
  • Report, record and manage all accidents/incidents according to established procedures
  • To carry out hazard surveys of the work area and to ensure that hazards and all accidents or injuries are reported
  • To discipline personnel as and when required according to company procedures
  • To compile job records as instructed by company and client specifications.
Key Requirements
  • Trade Qualification
  • Previous demonstrated experience working as a supervisor within a steel fabrication workshop environment
  • Sound working knowledge of Subarc, Fluxcore and preferably innershield knowledge.
  • Demonstrate ability to understand and work from technical drawings
