Due to company growth we are currently seeking experienced Machine Operators to join our Workshop team based at the Naval Base.

Due to company growth we are currently seeking experienced Machine Operators to join our Workshop team based at the Naval Base. 
Key Responsibilities
Operating CNC Machines: Safely operate CNC machines for cutting, drilling and pressing components for steel fabrication:

• Correct set-up and operation
• Correct tool selection & maintenance
• Correct use of cutting oil
• Correct use of guards & safety devices

 Housekeeping: Work area to be kept clean and tidy;

• Swarf removed (if applicable)
• Floor tidy and free of tripping hazards
• Cut steel stored correctly
• Scrap steel removed to proper bin

Moving Loads: Safe use of appropriate lifting equipment:

• Overhead cranes (if competent)
• Magnets
• Chains & slings
• Lifting shoes

Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment 

• Long sleeved shirt, long pants
• Steel capped boots
• Safety glasses / welding goggles
• Hearing protection
• Gloves

Key Requirements

• Trade qualification (Machinist, Fitter, Turner etc)
• 3 years’ experience within the steel fabrication industry
• Competent in the use of various CNC machines applicable to the metal fabrication industry
• Good manual handling skills
• Overhead Crane Competency
• Competent in the use of the following FICEP machines; Bandsaw, Beamline, Press & roller and Profile cutter
