The opportunity
Civmec is currently seeking expressions of interest from experienced Planners, Cost Controllers & Estimators for future work across Australia on either a FIFO or local basis.
As an applicant, you will receive e-mail notifications of suitable positions and/or phone calls to discuss positions as they become available.

Responsibilities include
Cost
  • Conduct project control reporting
  • Update and monitor cost curves, expenditures and project commitments
  • Consolidate progress achieved
  • Conduct cost forecasting
  • Review and adjust project control guidelines, procedures and flowcharts
  • Liaise with project users on project coding
Planning
  • Monitor production with a focus on insuring correct resources are deployed to each project
  • Produce plans and schedules of work including visual aids such as bar charts, procedures and diagrams
  • Utilise planning software such as Primavera to determine schedules
  • Prepare logistics plans and progress schedules for projects
  • Monitor project progress throughout the fabrication and construction period
  • Compare progress with client programs and maintain contract deadlines
Estimation
  • Reviewing tender documentation to determine scope and specific terms and conditions
  • Preparing and coordinating subcontract components required for tender submissions
  • Obtaining highly competitive quotes for the provision of necessary materials and services
  • Accurately calculating man hour estimates and associated costs
  • Determining plant and equipment required for specific projects
  • Developing construction methodology identifying synergies and saving
  • Preparing professional tender submission documents in line with client and Company requirements
About you
  • Tertiary qualification or degree in a relevant field (commerce, accounting, finance, engineering, construction)
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the metals and minerals, oil and gas, infrastructure, or, marine and defence
  • Proficient in the use Microsoft suite and specific software such as P6, Coins or Expert Estimation
  • Developed interpersonal and communication skills
