The Position
Reporting to Director, Asset Management the Maintenance Planner is responsible for scheduling maintenance tasks to deliver maximum uptime for our clients while protecting the cost effectiveness and longevity of our fleet.

The successful candidate will work from our Fort McKay shop on a rotation of five days on, two days off.

Roles & Responsibilities below are a minimum and in no way limited to the list provided
  • Responsible to generate detailed weekly maintenance schedules with input from Maintenance Supervisors and Project Managers
  • Develop a process for backlog work record and scheduling
  • Responsible to schedule tasks based on resource availability
  • Generate a labour forecast based on short and long term work schedules and develop work force planning ratios 
  • Update weekly schedules as needed when as utilization and resource availability changes
  • Responsible for monitoring schedule adherence and escalating issues of
  • Forecast, plan and schedule undercarriage repairs and change-out based on wear rates and machine utilization
  • Monitor and measure undercarriage performance and costs
  • Responsible to ensure parts are ordered and ready for planned tasks
  • Coordination of tire repairs and changes
  • Assist maintenance manager with annual budget and monthly forecast
Your Skills and Experience
The minimum requirements for education and experience are listed below. Consideration will be given to individuals with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Relevant post-secondary education such as Mechanical/Mining/Civil Engineering or relevant Journeyman Trade Certification.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working with heavy mining equipment.
  • Strong mechanical background is essential.
  • Excellent computer literacy skills.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Excellent planning and forecasting skills.
