Our Cooljarloo mine site is located near Cataby, about 170km North of the CBD. The mine offers a range of lifestyle options including the opportunity to reside in coastal towns such as Lancelin or Jurien Bay, or alternatively employees can stay in our single persons accommodation whilst rostered on. This position is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, this position is responsible for ensuring that preventative and breakdown maintenance activities are effectively planned and carried out so that the plant and equipment is available to meet operational requirements.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Administer preventative and breakdown maintenance schedules and practices into plant operating schedules.
  • Manage all aspects of planned shutdown periods including people, time and equipment
  • Ensure that plant and equipment is maintained to the required standards and that documentation and drawings are maintained and up to date
  • Identify skills development needs amongst employees and participate in the development and implementation of training programs.
  • Identify opportunities for reducing costs in maintenance activities and material usage
  • Compile daily and weekly work tasks and ensure all employees adhere to scheduled plan
  • Thorough compliance to Tronox policy and procedures
  • Minimise the impact of breakdowns on availability
Preferred candidates will demonstrate 
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to inspire confidence within a team.
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Ability to develop a understanding of organisational behaviours and have the ability to install these within the work group
  • Good written and oral communication skills, with an ability to communicate across all levels of the organisation.
  • Good organisation skills and consistent time management capabilities.
  • Previous experience with an automated work scheduling system will be highly regarded
Advantageous to the role
  • Mechanical trade certificate/qualifications and experience gained within a similar position.
  • Previous experience in the maintenance of Hydraulic systems, Dredges and/or Warman pumps
  • High Risk Licenses
