collapse description expand description As the Electrical Project Supervisor at Chandala reporting to the Engineering Group Leader you will be presented with a range of opportunities to deliver on a multitude of projects on site. You will also play a key role in the development from the conceptual design stage carrying through to the complete project life cycle this includes all areas of the capital project budget including procurement, planning, finance control, and engineering review. This role is key to supporting internally a large group of services within the Tronox mining, operations, processing, procurement, finance, engineering, supply chain and SHE departments.

Set in the countryside north of Perth, the Chandala Processing Plant is located 5 minutes from the rural community of Muchea and 40 minutes from Joondalup and Midland. The location of our Plant allows employees the option to choose between residing in rural areas that are well serviced by all amenities or the ability to commute daily from the Perth suburbs. We work on a Drive In Drive Out basis 5 days on 2 days off 4 days on 3 days off roster. 

As the Electrical Project Supervisor at Chandala reporting to the Engineering Group Leader you will be presented with a range of opportunities to deliver on a multitude of projects on site. You will also play a key role in the development from the conceptual design stage carrying through to the complete project life cycle this includes all areas of the capital project budget including procurement, planning, finance control, and engineering review. This role is key to supporting internally a large group of services within the Tronox mining, operations, processing, procurement, finance, engineering, supply chain and SHE departments. 

Primary duties
  • The developing and safe implementation of projects as required with in the Engineering department 
  • Project planning implementation, of projects outlined with in each year’s capital project program as approved
  • Interaction with other departments, in a supporting role
  • Works Supervisor of the day to day project implementation, reporting of progress against budget, schedule, risk maintaining and commissioning to all of the project team members
  • Development of projects and supporting other departments with their project development
  • Maintain Electrical drawing standards
  • Maintain Regulatory requirements as in the current mines Act and or ASN/NZ standards 
  • Tracking the performance of the project portfolio and post project execution 
Your success in securing this role will require:
  • A Electrical qualified trade and hold or be able to obtain a WA A grade Electrical licenses
  • 5 year min in a supervisor role with projects or 5 years as work supervisor 
  • Understanding of PLC logic control (Honeywell )
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and the ability to interact professionally across the entire workforce
  • A desire to ‘get out of the office’ to understand the project needs and how to drive for the best results
  • An understanding of accounting principles
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft office including project 
Advantageous to the role
  • Formal qualifications with project management
  • Experiences in AUTO CAD for drawing mark-ups only 
  • High risk license
